Adoption Information
All of our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, de-flea'd and speyed/neutered prior to rehoming. They have also received any other vet treatment that may have been required. Our dogs are thoroughly assessed while in foster and they have received training and rehabilitating where needed before progressing to being available for adoption.
We consider every application on an individual basis and welcome everyone to apply as long as you meet the requirements of the dog you are applying for. If we feel you do not meet the requirements needed for the dog you are interested in we may suggest another more suitable dog that we feel would fit your circumstances and lifestyle better.

Adoption Procedures
1) First of all you can look at our available dogs to see who is looking for a home. You can also see our foster dogs which are dogs still under assessment or receiving ongoing medical treatment or possibly requires more behavioural help before being considered adoptable. The foster dogs are not yet ready for adoption and cant be reserved however you can keep up to date with them and see their progress until they are available.
2) If you find a dog you feel is a good match and suitable for your family you may fill out an application form. Please answer all the questions honestly as this will be followed up on your homecheck. Please use the form to give as much detail as possible, the more information you provide the easier it is for us to consider you to be a match to the dog you are interested in.
3) If we consider you to be a good match with the dog you are applying for, your application will be shortlisted and you will be contacted to arrange a homecheck. Please try and be as flexible as possible for this to take place as this is done in our volunteers spare time.
4) The homecheck will be carried out and this will give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. If your homecheck is approved we then arrange a meet and greet with the dog you have applied for.
5) Once you have met the dog you then have a chance to think about it before making your decision. If you feel you would like to go ahead with the adoption we then make the appropriate arrangements for the dog to come in to your care.
6) Adoption fee will be required once the paperwork is completed before you take ownership of the dog. Our adoption fee is £170 this goes towards vaccinating, microchipping, flea & worming and neutering the next dog we save.

FAQ'S
Q I have pets that are not neutered, can I still adopt?
A No, we operate a strict neutering policy. There are many reasons why we do not allow our dogs go into homes with un-neutered pets, some of our females have been used as breeding machines and they do not want that kind of attention from un-neutered males. Another big reason is that it can lead to fighting, we do not want to take that chance with our dogs as they have been through enough. Exceptions to this are 1) puppies that are too young to be neutered however this must be carried out as soon as the dog is of age. 2) Where vet has advised not to neuter due to age or underlying medical condition. In these circumstances proof must be provided.
Q I live in England, can I still adopt?
A No, we are a Scottish based rescue and only adopt within Scotland. This helps us to keep transport costs down but mainly it is because we can provide help and support 24/7 to any of our adoptees if needed.
Q Im under 21, can I still adopt?
A No, taking on a rescue dog is big responsibility. Some our dogs can be quite strong, some require ongoing training and all require a safe, stable and responsible home. We feel 21 is a more appropriate and responsible age.
Q I have young kids, can I still adopt?
A Yes, we allow families with kids of all ages to adopt however not all our dogs are suitable to live with young children. If we feel the dog you are interested in is not suitable we may suggest another more suitable dog. All our available dogs have their own profiles which state what age of children they can live with.
Q I live in a flat, can I still adopt?
A Yes, we allow some of our dogs to live in flats however this is not suitable to all dogs. Please check with us if a dog you are interested in would be suitable for this environment. We may suggest another dog if we feel the dog you are interested in would not be suitable to live in a flat.
Q I have other pets, can I still adopt?
A Yes, we do have some dogs that can live with other animals such as dogs, cats, horses and small furries.
